ACTION:      

 

MINTUTES OF MEETINGS OF 08/06/09:

                       

                        The Minutes for August 6, 2009 meeting were presented.  Motion made by Larry                          Grandey to accept the minutes; seconded by Vicki Byrne, ayes carried.

 

COMMITTEE UPDATES/ACTIONS

 

A)    Organizations

a.       Current Account Balance

 

DDM will receive budget $20,000 loan forgiveness; Keith Nagle will draft letter for forgiveness of $20,000 loan from City.  DDM will also receive $20,000 Coal severance from Bell County Fiscal Court.

 

b.      Historic Preservation Conference

 

Motion made by Larry Grandey to approve expenses for Kassie’s attendance, Hotel, travel, and food, to Nashville Historic Preservation Conference, motion seconded by Donna Smith, upon vote, all approved.

 

c.       Master Plan

                       

 

B)    Economic Restructuring

a.       South East Regional Meeting            

 

C)    Design

a.       Grant Finances Update  - No changes

 

b.      Community Development Block Grant

 

DDM is applying for a grant through Tour SEKY; (Middlesboro Garden Club), plantings at Arthur Museum, (Butterfly Garden); motion that the Board formally endorse this project made by Jay Shoffner, seconded by Larry Grandey, upon vote, all approved.

                 

D)    Promotions

a.       Website

 

Mark Small will design, install, and maintain website for DDM with a charge of $75.00 per month.  Motion made by Judy Barton to hire Mark Small, seconded by Larry Grandey, upon vote, all approved.

 

 

Being no further business the meeting was adjourned.   

 

            NEXT MEETING

 

                        The next DDM meeting will be held at Middlesboro City Hall on October 8,                                  2009, at a time to be determined.
